Oh dear. The first post. Er...just no, and maybe you should try reading it again, and this time actually read for comprehension and not to merely respond.

    From the OP:

"There are multiple examples of very bright conservatives and not-so-bright liberals, and many examples of very principled conservatives and very intolerant liberals,"
This reflects my personal experience, however, I tend to circulate among those with more of a 'centrist' view on issues anyway.

I'll grant you that fear is borne of ignorance, but does ignorance indicate a lower IQ? I'm not so sure about the logical veracity of the premise itself.

Yeah, yeah, in your mind. You do not read my posts about Gays or Lesbians. Not my business.

Vince Gill is,or was, friend of the Bush family. Not heard much from him lately.

Garth Brooks sure is not. Toby Keith laughed after Republicans went nuts about his Boot Up Your A**. Later laughed and said he was a Democrat.. Yet he sang that same song for Trump.

Mia Love is a black Mormon from Somalia or perhaps Ethiopia. Now one has to ask, how the hell did this happen? Well, as much as I adore my Mormon friends, being a black Mormon from Africa is a stretch. I have heard her speak, she is not the brightest bulb in the drawer.

Even trained Scientists are capable of letting self interest, bias and personal prejudice sway their answers.

Science is not a Thomas Dolby song.

Reading the OP, it was reinforced several times that the results were not to be taken 'as gospel', but it makes for an interesting discussion if one disagrees! For instance, the range of the political spectrum among the sampled subjects has not been introduced as a factor in the study, and that would affect the findings.

I prefer to use the words," Closed minds." They do not want to hear anything, new information because they would have to relearn the dogma they already have.

A person who can listen to new information and, maybe change their mind has to think things through.

As you read in my posts after the election,I thought Trump might have been eager to do the things he promised his followers. But he is doing the exact opposite. He is following the worst parts of the extreme right. It is clear he is a liar, whiney, self centered narcisstic fool. I no longer give him the benefit of the doubt. He is determined to undo every good thing Obama accomplished and has no plans to make things better,
