As you read in my posts after the election,I thought Trump might have been eager to do the things he promised his followers. But he is doing the exact opposite. He is following the worst parts of the extreme right. It is clear he is a liar, whiney, self centered narcisstic fool. I no longer give him the benefit of the doubt. He is determined to undo every good thing Obama accomplished and has no plans to make things better,
    BINGO.

    Who are the Closed minds?

Those at Berkeley and NYU that Burn down their Campus to keep an opposing point of view from being heard?

or an open Conservative Campus that brings Liberals Conservatives Libertarians, Democrats, Republicans into a place where there is open debate?
    Thanks from jey6pack

Two examples? Berkeley has always been a hothead of nuts.

On the second I have not heard of them. The most publicized are Bob Jones and Jerry Falwell.

This is where I get a little testy on this site, the rhetoric. We should be receptive to new information, and we should learn to avoid and disrespect the spin behind much of the material we are exposed to, for then can we grow as humans. Ideologies are dangerous, and when strict adherence is demanded, people will die. We must learn to become flexible and focus on the issue, not the ideology, for that has become merely a profitable distraction for those in government. Instead of an ideological stance, and spending all the time here on trying to make either side look bad by employing hyperbole, and cherry-picking highly partisan source material, we should actually discuss the merits behind the issue.

Liberty universty held a debate with a Evolutionist and a Creationist (Falwell) in a debate. Opposing points of view.

Belmont University (Southern Baptist University) held Debates with Obama and Romney Opposing points of view

Conservatives are not afraid of opposing viewpoints and world views.

Liberals will burn down their house before you can speak freely in opposition.

You do not recognize sarcasm? that is mixed in my posts, along with many facts.

But on the closed mind bit,I have to believe what I see all around me.Evanglelicals that are bigoted, my way or the highway.

That is why I changed Churches. I wanted to hear things like," All inclusive, accept all." Not my way,or the highway. That belief I am steadfast on. Now,I am hearing that every Sunday morning. And it is coming from the young.

Oh, I do. Don't think I was talking about you for a second.

That's quite positive and refreshing. Either side has it vocal extremes, and as they say, 'empty vessels make the most noise', however, while we note the intolerance coming out of some of the churches, I also have become weary of the intolerance to open discussion on issues from the extreme left, as well as the right.
We (as a people) seem to avoid rational discussion and default to 'you guys suck', all too often.

You pick out one and blame all. What about the peaceful marches of millions all across the country with no incidents.

I am aware of Belmont but would have to research their creed to know about them. One Presidential Debate does not reveal their basic belief.

I researched the Baptist faith and learned about Roger Williams and his friend, Thomas Jefferson. That is how I realized just how far the leaders of the Baptist Church had strayed from the original.

I then researched the Church of The Brethren. The one founded here in 1803,and their true belief which is based on the Teachings of Jesus Christ. We have a series every year, inviting other Pastors from different faiths in,to share how we all basically believe alike. Never mind the rules and regulations that are created by man. One faith, all inclusive.

Perhaps we are too interested in the lifestyle of others?
Many are with condemnation. I only do that when actions are excessive. As the Pastor said," Humans have small minds. God is inclusive, love and kindness." I have the human, small mind, slow to forgive and understand. but am trying, every day that becomes harder.

Well, there's a line, and that is either social disruption, or just plain ol' hurting others. If making judgements based upon those who cross the line is wrong, then I'm as guilty as anybody.

Intelligent beings recognise their own flaws, and work on them daily, however, it is difficult to change one's 'core values'. Others are oblivious and remain stunted in my opinion.
