You know, I posted this thread just as a point of interest declaring that I was a member of the Libertarian Party. After Trump was elected I was completely disillusioned by my former party, the Republican Party. I am disgusted with Mr. Trump's behavior towards immigrants, women and the media. He is a self serving narcissistic jerk.
The result. The usual forum dimwits flock to this thread to challenge my choice of becoming a Libertarian. All the usual partisan bullshit.
I'm sorry to have bothered this forum with my OP.
Libertarianism is something with a defined view.
It exists and you either are one or you are not.
Same with liberal, conservative, socialist.....any of them.
This is why we have to make up terms like social conservative and what not, for the people that do not fit into the traditional definition of a standard ideology.
The way my professors explained it very simply is to think of ideologies as a box of crayons. You have your standard colors like blue, orange, green.....and those are constant and never change. But then you start mixing the colors and come up with stuff like amber or aqua which are based on a main color but have different elements added to it.
So yes, all libertarians agree on everything or they are not actually a libertarian, they are some sort of hyphenated ideology.
