I don't understand that. Don't they teach anything anymore? Of course, I gre up in a different era. I was in sixth grade when they captured Adolf Eichman. My social studies teacher used the event as a teaching opportunity, to teach about the Nazis and the Holocaust. I have never forgotten the photo of the pile of shoes from Holocaust victims at Auschwitz. That said everything to me about the sheer evil of the perps.

I've heard numerous people cite an uptick in the number of this sort of thing. I would be much more interested in seeing those numbers, because let's face it: there are always wingnuts looking to do this sort of stupid thing. I heard one of them was supposedly trying to impress a girl! If you want to link Trump to these things we need the data showing a significant uptick in this behavior. In itself, this thread is an anecdote, which we all know proves nothing. What does the data say?

No they don't teach this stuff anymore. Most people under 35 don't even know what the Holocaust was. We took it out of our schools years ago because parent complained of its graphic nature.

Good point. In fact the summer of 2014 had the highest number of anti semitic events recently due to the happenings over in Israel. So it probably ebbs and flows over time.

It's not going to turn out to be Muslims, whether immigrants or not. It's going to be some mouth-breathing, "Christian", white supremacists, emboldened by the hateful rhetoric of the Bigot In The White House.

You people supporting or excusing or even just trying to normalize this shit are behaving like cowards and traitors.

Supporting or excusing the defacing of synagogues?? Who has done that?

What in the world are you talking about?

I think they like the Tats..TBH. They have no clue what that stands for..they just see Nazi's as bad ass cool guys. I can't imagine a parent not going through the roof when they discover that their teens are coveting monsters.

    Have never heard that before.

    If true, that is stunning.

I was thinking of here in the United States, where a pundit on NPR cited a statistically significant uptick in this sort of activity. I just haven't seen the data.
