    Irrelevance. [Rim-shot]

(What are you talking about..."progressively inclined...Republicans"? Never saw such an animal in nature.)

    Besides, I'm not a progressive. I'm a liberal.

Not all change occurs at a glacial rate and, in reality, things have gotten rapidly worse ever since Reagan and Clinton.
I don't know. There's an ebb and flow to these things.

Crazy talk. Trump's speech was the darkest most self-aggrandizing speech of its kind in history. That's like saying Ghandi and Hitler had the same basic message because they both used words.

I don't think so. She wasn't my first choice.

Things would be worse if Hillary had wom, but that's neither here nor there.
That's just crazy. I thought you were smarter than that.

Neither one wanted to make the lives of ordinary Americans better. Neither one was loyal to the American people.
Hillary wouldn't even come close to doing to this country what Donald has already done. Not even close.

But Bernie was....and he would have made our lives better.
    I wanted Bernie too.

You KNOW this. Is it that you can't admit supporting Hillary was a massive mistake? Is it your pride that you can't get past?
She was my second choice and would have been a much better President than Trump. You KNOW this too.

Mark my words. Trump thinks math is for losers.
But yet you think Hillary would've been worse?

    Not a progressive?

Do you oppose universal health care?

News flash: plenty of conservatives felt that way about Obama's inaugural speech.

I do. That's why we are such buddies.

I am not angry at anyone who didn't write Bernie in.....that would be stupid.

He couldn't possibly have won after Hillary was nominated.

But let's not do that again, m'kay? Let's actually elect a progressive next time.

Step one: elect progressive D's and R' s in 2018.

No, I support it. But I support it because I see how it creates a more fluid job market, helps to ensure a healthy (and therefore effective) workforce, and can help combat a host of social problems. The fact that it is, in the aggregate, cheaper than what we do now is a major selling point.

Obama's speech was pretty anodyne. There were conservatives who thought Obama wanted to raise his own personal army and indoctrinate all school children, too. There are 330+ million people in our country. I suspect there were people who felt any number of ways about his speech. If they bothered to absorb it at all.
