    The Baby & The Bathwater

It is VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE, this week, not to want to find a few online Trump supporters who are STILL supporting him and batter them. In California, that impulse was not resisted, and various anti-Trump protesters were arrested for assaults on Trump supporters rallying at a beach near LA.

Believe me, I get it. It's like this:

    I feel it myself.

BUT.....as a patriot and an adult, when you are excitable and hopping up and down, you know that's not your most thoughtful, reflective, studious frame of mind.

Not every Republican politician is a Trump-eteer. Not every Democratic politician is a beneficent fighter for the working man and the poor.

In fact, IMO, there are more GOP congressmen and women who have supported progressive ideas and policies than there are Democrats.

And make no mistake, by "progressive", I mean that government stops oppressing YOU and YOUR family as fast as possible and allows YOU to flourish again. Possibly not as well as we did in the 1950's, but WTF can't we at least do as well as MOST (but certainly not all) Americans did in the 1960's?

Watch what the politicians DO, not what they say. Take care, when slamming someone for voting for Trump, that you do not say anything stupid like "too bad you didn't vote for Hillary". Tweedledum is not a better choice than Tweedledee!

The alternative to the hell Trump wants to create for Americans is NOT the hell Hillary wanted to create, and had previously created. It's the better country that Bernie wanted to create.

[Note: I think the libertarians have a POV worth hearing. I do not agree with them, but they are important voices of fiscal restraint and responsibility.]

Your enemy is not the brown, black, Muslim, undocumented person, or white guy standing next to you. Your enemy is the 0.01%.

Bullshitting voters into thinking they must always choose between the "better of two bad choices" is how we GOT to where we are. Vote for the PERSON, not his or her party. Rely on their RECORD, not their campaign speeches.

    /end rant.

Only 3 years and 9 months to go.

Maybe, just maybe, the Dems will run a decent candidate next time.

Or maybe they will run 2 time loser Hillary again.

    You never know...

I respect your position, Madeline, but if we all took your recommendation, nothing would ever get done. Every politician would be looking to be pure and of themselves only, and that's what just took down the GOP Obamacare repeal--Freedom Caucus members who wouldn't go with their party. They are pure--they vote "no" on EVERYTHING.

Political parties have a purpose. They allow pols to aggregate power in order to accomplish something. They tend to moderate the extremes on both ends. And they let us know how is colluding with whom BEFORE we vote for them, not after (at least in the American system).

I would love to see Hillary run again...But this time revolutionize the campaign model. Don't campaign on the ground.

Take a page form Trump and only do TV appearances on Ellen, Colbert, Mahar, Morning Joe, The View, The Walk, Wendy Willams, Dr. Phil, The Chew...

Never go to Iowa. Never campaign in NH.

Hold massive TV rallies in L.A. NY Miami Houston Chicago

Fly into Detriot give a rally, go home for two week. The fly into Cleveland for another rally.

Living on the road for 8 months is bullshit.

Lets follow this logically. Logic can be learned, it's all a skill you learn if you have have enough dealings with logical people. This is something the Right is sorely in short supply of, logical people especially at the primary level.

One of the reasons Trump has gotten to were he is is there is simply not enough logical people asking Trump logical follow up questions during the primaries. . Had there been more logical primary questions like HOW are you going to do A B C not just saying he was going to do it and trust him or its a secret. That’s not logical and at that point he should have gone down in flames to one of the other 17.

If Clinton was as bad as all that another Republican candidate would have won in his place. There still would be a Republican President but he would not be Trump. At least he would be sane and more trustworthy. At this point in a Republican Presidency he would have been scandal free as Trump is setting some sort of record.

The government is being run by a conman idiot right now but the root of all this is the Republican primary voter. I believe given the feelings about Clinton she could have been beat by any Republican. The Republicans are to blame for the cluster fuck that is Trump.

I think that would put you in the minority of Dems/Libs.

May be a popular choice among the Repubs/Cons, though.

    1. We had a decent candidate.

    2. We also had a foreign country influence our democracy in a bad way.

    3. We underestimated just how gullible and stupid voters are.

I know you didn't vote for either but you have to admit that things couldn't be any worse right now. Trump is an embarrassment to this country.

It's a test of our democracy. Can the millenials and progressives wrest control of the Democratic party away from the stooges for the 0.01%?

I think so.....but every American voter must get woke and get to work.

You had a HORRIBLE candidate. A woman so evil, even Trump was less satanic.

I do not know why American Democrats will not face that.

Things would be worse if Hillary had wom, but that's neither here nor there.

Neither one wanted to make the lives of ordinary Americans better. Neither one was loyal to the American people.

But Bernie was....and he would have made our lives better.

You KNOW this. Is it that you can't admit supporting Hillary was a massive mistake? Is it your pride that you can't get past?

Trump was very vague on his explanations on how to get things done. I saw a video the other night of Trump actually saying "I will give you everything." Don't forget this is the guy that also said "I alone can fix it." Stupid voters fell for it. They were conned.

“I will give you everything” promises Trump in announcing his energy plan.
