In this discussion that is irrelevant.
actually, it is relevant. if you vote either party, you are legitimizing their platform - all of it. matters not if you agree with it. what would happen if a third (or fourth) party proposed exactly what you wanted - would you support and vote for that party?

I agree about the need for a third party option in the United States.

Let me take one of your points and expand on the evolution of politicians once they obtain a power that corrupts. In the Youtube link below Mr Obama had a pretty well rounded view on illegals in the United States during 2005. What amount of cash did it take to get him to change his mind? How can this type of cash driven negative effect evolution be managed?

In a local election, yes, but not on a national level.

and what would cause you to not vote for them in a national election? your perception of their ability to win?

thank you for your honesty. that is what I surmised. now, if the rules were changed to make numerous parties a viable choice, would you consider voting for a party other than the current two major parties?

If they actually had a chance of wining, and my votes wasn't a guarantee the trump candidate would win.

then, let's all work together to make sure the rules get changed to make that happen. that is the only way to get this done. we must, as citizens, have our voices heard and insure proper representation for ourselves and our fellow citizens. this is where we seem to have a problem - discarding the small stuff and getting to the business of insuring all the citizens get a fair and equal share of both the benefits and the responsibilities of governing. trust me, there is enough of the small stuff to keep us all plenty busy after the major items are taken care of.
