According to the popular vote most states do not want this.

Using your logic we should follow the popular vote which is no change.
When has "the popular vote" indicated that the voters want to retain the electoral college system? With a source link, please.

    Cheers,

    National Popular Vote

Don't believe the idiotic partisan blather that its only the left or only the right who wants this. It's passed in liberal states like California and has been endorsed by conservatives like Newt Gingrich and former libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr. Also, some will say it puts all the power with the larger states. If true, why has it passed in small states like Rhode Island, Hawaii, Maryland, and Vermont?

    Like I said... it's interesting.
Problem is making big changes like this might come back and bite them just like the Nuclear option did with Neal Gorsuch. What feels good today may not feel so good tomorrow , if you know what I mean. If the Republicans won the next election by a popular vote would the Democrats feel the same way as they do today?

You're arguing with a made up cartoon character inside your head. I didn't even say I supported the idea but you want to argue about stuff you know nothing about. 11 states have passed it, you asked how many small states, I said 4, and you said that's 4 out of 46... 50 small states? I missed the point? You're blathering.

Who is them? There are conservatives and liberals who both support the idea.

    In fact:

"I would rather see it, where you went with simple votes. You know, you get 100 million votes, and somebody else gets 90 million votes, and you win. There’s a reason for doing this. Because it brings all the states into play." -Donald Trump

    Which means 39 states haven't.

That means the will of the people is against it.

Or do you want to pull an electoral college to pass this against the will of the people?

No other country uses an Electoral College type system. Their elections reflect the choice of individuals as reflected in a Popular Vote.

Should the United States abolish the Electoral College and depend solely on the Popular vote?

This election showed why we need the electoral college. Hillary won popular vote because of 2 democrat stronghold states California and New York. She won les than 20 states. Take away California and New York and she lost by 3 million votes

Can you just not read at all? Is that what your problem is?
