Nor do the citizens obviously. No, you're still missing the point here, and that is, the electoral college is anachronistic as it can contradict the popular vote. Is that simplified enough? You do realise that this is a hypothetical question under discussion I hope?

Your reason is so California and New York democrats decide the election

You discount the popular vote??? The individual votes of individual citizens???

Then why should individual citizens exercise their right, indeed duty, and vote in an election?

That is a lie. Most of the country elected Trump. You want only California and New York to matter since they are democrats. Take them away and Hillary lost by 3 million votes. I f you want to change it then it should be who wins the most states since elections are state run. It makes no sense for popular vote when elections are state run

This debate is older then you and me put together.

In fact it was heavily debated during the convention.

They looked at a number of different systems for the election of the president in fact one state even walked out because of this. This issue along with the bill of rights were the two biggest issues to get the constitution ratified.

We have amended the constitution plenty of times so if you have the votes then do it.

I can tell you right now though that you don't so bitching and moaning about it will do you no good. Most people think its fair and they like the system.

Using your popular vote method I think its safe to say the people don't want this.
So are all the states equally small or do some possess more smallness than others?

I am being logical. Popular vote can not happen if elections are state run. At best it would be who wins the most states
