THAT is pie in the sky.

Getting themselves re-elected, and beating up on the other party is their priority.

Power and money and money and power are what they care about.

Serving the American people is way, WAY down the list of their priorities.

California now has open primaries. What that mean is, except for national elections, only the top two vote getters in the primaries for state offices advance to the general election. It defacto means "third party candidates need not apply."

Instead of the D's and R's spending all their time and energy beating up on each other, maybe there would be a party working FOR something rather than just trying to keep themselves in power.

Because that's what the D's and R's do: try to stay in office/power by any means necessary.

They would have to catch up with the scumbaggery and corruption of the two big parties, though.
