Not if its something all states want.

If you could remake our country what would you change?

Can you imagine the backroom deals also?

"Vote for this and we will vote for that".

Can you imagine what corporations would be pushing for and the amount of lobbying?

until it's passed, anything would still have to be done by the rules they have. 3/4 of the states must ratify it. that's not gonna be easy.

No open Primary here, and if you want to vote on the other side because you think they will be a weak candidate, you have to swear you are changing parties.

Quite a few states are like that. No affiliations at the state level and open primaries.

What is not an option? Registering as a particular party?

I have no problem with that - assuming we can get the state legislatures to go along with it.

Yes. Whenever I vote in a primary, I must choose either a Democratic or Republican ballot. There is no party registration.

That seems strange. It basically means there is no such thing as either party in your state, except for the actual party organizations.

It would be interesting for the liberals to all vote for the most beatable Republican, and for the conservatives to all vote for the most beatable Democrat, then give you two horrible candidates to vote for.

It is as if discovering the nature of the universe would cause it to vanish and be replaced with something even more inexplicable - assuming, of course, that this has not already happened.

Indeed. I was the VA hospital this morning, and the picture of Trump does not look like it belongs ... in fact, does not look like a president at all. (At least, not a president of the United States.)

    I have to disagree.

Increasingly, I have no real party.

I dislike most of the GOP Aristocracy, and, outright loathe most of the DNC Aristocracy.

As such, I would just like to see a THIRD, or even FOURTH, option.

But, no biggie. America has a long tradition of "independent voters." While I tend to vote GOP, based on actual POLICY and AGENDA, I find it increasingly difficult to vote for some of them (For more reasons than I can list in a day....)

At one time, I could have even voted for a Democrat or two (And, did, for one FANTASTIC Democrat Governor....). But, today, voting for Democrats is voting against my own interests, and beliefs. (Cue our resident Libs to tell me about my "fascist" and "racist" values...because they know me so fucking well!)
