I missed that! That is awesome.

    Good on Obama!

Ha! Did you see that Daddy Bush gave the medal to Margaret Thatcher?

    Lololol.

One wonders what for. Most Britons starved to death by political oppression, mayhaps?

    @allegoricalfact.....did you know this?

I have no problem with a thread about Shirley Chisolm. It's about time. Just that the OP can't take responsibility for her own ignorance of the subject and included it as part of her OP. Making it fair game.
I know you don't! It is just that today everyone is happy just to be in one piece.

I get angry and report, too. But it is usually when a friend is insulted. I did not see this as a reportable offense, only a disagreement.

Confession here.I despise Trump, think he is guilty as sin, but he broke the log jam McConnell,ORyan and fellow Republicans had on Congress. I have no idea who long it will last, but I am seeing moderates coming out of the woodwork to work together

Die hard Republicans are telling me they despise Mitch and Paul. Glad to see them humiliated.

Like me,they are sick of the do nothings and their meanness.

Madeline, you can report me for going off subject. I will survive to post again.
    Thanks from Madeline

Point of the Op, BTW, is that we voters should be recruiting new Chisolm-esque people to run for office.

So we aren't constantly voting for the lesser of two evils.

Local and state political parties are relatively open and amenable to influence from ordinary people. And they in turn control the national party committee.
You better be prepared to vote the do nothing, crazies out.

Yes, I was around in 1963 - and at school, it was important then.

Btw you will not find one statue of Thatcher in the whole of Britain.

I remember Shirley Chisolm. She was quite a lady. Very proud of her.

    Please just stop.

Why? Do you feel guilty for not remembering Shirley? I notice some here can't even spell her last name right.

It serves me right for believing the veracity of the OP since I changed my original correct spelling to the wrong one in the OP.

The report function, and it's judicious use, is my contribution towards keeping this website's standards up. I always publically acknowledge that I made the report, and why, so everyone can see what sort of post violates the TOS, IMO.

I realize most report in secret. Like yourself. But I really won't say anything behind your back unless I also say it to your face.

I did not start this thread to illuminate that I personally forgot Chisolm. That would be logically impossible.

    IMPOSSIBLE.

Your tortured interpretation of the Op serves no purpose, and is a bit like littering.

Not as bad as arson, but still not praise-worthy public behavior.

Naah it's your default coping mechanism when you are under too much stress or disagreement. It shows off your weaknesses..... since you again made yourself the subject and can't post on topic.

BTW there is no Chisolm it's Chisholm. Show some respect.
