That goes the same for any ideology.

As you have stated, America believes in principles that define it as a conservative viewpoint.

Conservatism is non-changing so is liberalism, libertarianism, anarchism, communism, and all the other ism's out there.

You don't apply an ideology to a circumstance, you look at the circumstance and see which ideology it most closely aligns to.
it is not a conservative ideal to believe in equality. Period.

You cannot claim that as conservative.

I changed Churches last year. I did not go until I read what their platform is. Once I found out I knew it was the place for me.

I had also researched the old one, found out how far they had drifted from the Founder of the Church.

With out a background you have nothing to go on.

I have referenced parties several times because several of the people who HAVE posted keep referring to them and I'm trying to explain that my inquiry has to do with ideology, not party.
Ideology has to have background. You do not pluck things out of thin air.

    I didn't claim it was.

What I claimed was the difference in how equality is arrived at.

Conservatives believe it should be up to the individual and using liberalism as a counter-point because its also very popular, they believe equality should be given.

I'm not sure equality is even a principle, I would have to look that up.

I think its just a result of an action.

I agree. Is there something I've said that made you believe I'm suggesting things be plucked out of thin air?

    Not necessarily.

    Take libertarianism for example.

It is completely unworkable in the real world but on paper it looks perfectly fine.

However, there has never been a society able to implement it, at best they can pull a couple of principles from it to work into their main ideology.

Ah - this is a sound point, but it exemplifies the apparent miscommunication going on here:

You absolutely should find out what a particular church believes/practices before joining it. Same goes with a political party.

A church's platform should (at least theoretically) be based/built on a particular faith/core set of beliefs. Just as a political party's platform should be based/built on a particular core set of beliefs.

Fleshing out the analogy, my inquiry was not into what church people attend, or why they attend the church they do but why they subscribe to a particular faith/religion -- i.e., what the core beliefs/principles are that prompt them to claim that faith/religion.

Liberals believe everyone should end up in the same place and if it takes the government to ensure that than so be it.

Conservatives believe it should be up to the individual to either fail or succeed based on their motivation.

    That is essentially the difference.
    That's simply not true.

All I read was you putting OG down for publishing the Republican platform of 1968.

Now, I find you want to simply publish a paper in a few days. Very few Conservatives are not Republican
