There are similarities between Weinstein and Trump, but if you want to go to the core of them, there is in both of these characters basically a contempt for others and a sick ego.

agree. when authority and power, either through money, politics or position, is vested in people, there are many who cannot be trusted to know where to draw the line and resist the attempt to use it for personal benefit.

Yet almost half of us voted for Trump. What does that say?

fortunately, L wasn't in that group. I'm thinking that the vote was more a protest against Washington that a vote for Trump as a person. of course, Trump - because of his egotistic nature - took it as a vote for him as a person.

True, but does not change the fact. And everyone knew what he was.

of course they knew. but, that is what the vote was all about. they made a choice between bad and worse (in their minds) based on the hope for improvement. so far, that hasn't worked out well for the citizens as a whole.

A significant percentage of the voters are entirely sick of the media telling them what is important, so those people have decided to ignore the reporting.

When the press was deciding that quotes about pussy grabbing were vital, Bill Clinton, an accused rapist, was campaigning for Trump's opponent.

These kinds of inconsistencies in coverage are not lost on the Trump voters, so they assume it's all bias and distortions.

The election of trump had nothing to do with the fucking media. The country was so pissed off at washington that they decided to send an idiot to the oval office as punishment.
