Of course, lots of other things do too. Most of the Republicans running interference for Trump are far from leaders like McConnell or Ryan, who both face stiff opposition among...lots of Republicans. My point is that the GOP doesn't need hands that dirty to back up Trump, and your article implicates men whose leadership is opposed by plenty of Republicans who would have reason to turn on them. In fact, Trump's strongest supporters mostly don't like their leaders in either house of congress.

That was DJTJr., I think. And you're right; there's a lot of very sketchy behavior going on, including the constantly changing story about how much contact they had with the Russians to begin with.

But I have to say, DJT, Jr.'s behavior there can be explained by the fact that he was a complete political novice, hopelessly over his head, and he appears to be a privileged prig with an inflated sense of his own skills, to boot. It wouldn't surprise me that he'd act like a high school football player in an NFL locker room.

That's MaryAnne's link I was referring to, not mine, and what it says is explosive.

So… here is the breakdown as I see it. Others may or may not agree. In the link, a British reporter, Louise Mensch makes the claims that Priebus and Ryan are on tape talking about the GOP laundering Russian money. The report states that Priebus agreed to do this during the Republican convention. The report goes on to state that Ryan is later on tape admitting to knowing about the plan to launder money.
That's some mindblowing stuff. Me, I always thought the Republicans were running interference for Trump because they could get a lot of things on their wish list checked off. Of course, Pence would offer that to them too, so I wondered why they defend Trump and run that interference. If what that link offered is true, then Pence would go down too along with the speaker. The Speaker is third in line of succession. This is the first I've heard of this and I have no idea if it's true, but it would explain a lot.
    Thanks from TennesseeRain

Fun fact - Mueller is looking into who drafted Jr.'s response to that meeting. If it's MM, that could be potential OFJ.

I would careful believing Mensch - she is kind of on the nutty side.

Patribotics is a blog written by Louise Mensch who is a former conservative British MP and co-founder of the Heat Street website. The purpose of the Patribotics blog, according to their about page is to provide “investigative journalism and analysis of the Russian hack on America’s election and related topics. Pro-America, pro-democracy, pro-NATO, pro-Russia, anti-Putin.” While Patribotics does produce factual content, they also promote numerous unproven conspiracies. The blog has been called controversial and cites unnamed sources in the intelligence community. Mensch has stated that she prefers the freedom of self-publishing, which having her own blog affords; she told The Guardian, “I didn’t want to be subject to an editing process. Editors would ask: who are your sources? And I can’t tell them.” Overall, this source does produce some quality investigative journalism, but there are also many unproven and un-sourced claims that render this blog questionable. (D. Van Zandt 7/30/2017)

The whole GOP isn't tainted by Russian involvement but there are a few sitting politicians that are going to be caught up in Mueller's investigation other than Trump himself. The stink of desperation coming off them is over powering. They themselves don't know what Mueller knows but the people that are yelling the loudest to get rid of Mueller altogether or get rid of Sessions are panicked because they are vulnerable to being exposed.

Those not in danger of being caught up in any of this=Cruz, Ryan, Rubio. Notice how quiet they are being right now.
