The GOP is not the party of Lincoln

The GOP is not the party of Lincoln. Not the party of Teddy Roosevelt. Not the party of Eisenhower. Not even the party of Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush.

The GOP is the party of Trump.

That's a shame and a stain on a once proud history.

As long as liberals are unhappy, that's all that matters.

The GOP is not a party of anything anymore. It is simply a group of poorly educated individuals fed by bucolic hate and an infantile desire to burn it all down.

But they keep wanting to take credit for Lincoln even though he would chew them up and spit them out.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but Lincoln believed the negro to be inferior. He just didn't think people should own them. So.....

    (sorry)

And he believed that way as a product of his time. Many in the modern Republican party believe that about blacks or other minorities but as products of this time. Lincoln's biases were understandable. The modern GOP's biases are regressive.

Lincoln's GOP was a progressive party. The GOP was progressive for the first 100 years of its existence.

The modern GOP wants credit for the past GOP's accomplishments while standing for the opposite of what the past GOP stood for.
