    Christian Fascism

In 2015, conservative evangelical Christian Franklin Graham spoke out largely against an X-Men comic. His complaint: The comic revealed the mutant character, Ice-Man was gay, and he had previously kept his homosexuality in the closet out of fear he'd ruin his reputation. Graham argued the publication was coercing young people into being gay.

Graham's argument had no truth to it at all. There is no record of any young individual, male or female, who turned homosexual as a result of reading the X-Men.

However, the X-Men comic had good social value to it because it told the story of a minority who felt persecuted by his society. Gay minorities in America are often persecuted by homophobic majorities and, as Social Scientist Emile Durkheim understood, society drives people to suicide. The X-Men comic helped gay minorities tell their stories, and in free, humanitarian societies, everyone is represented in public discussion.

In support of Franklin Graham's pugnacious diatribe, however, came a very frightening comment from one of his minions:

I like America the way it was started: On Christian principles.

From the Encyclopedia of World Fascism:

Fascism is a revolutionary form of ultra-nationalism bent on mobilizing all "healthy" social and political energies to resist the perceived threat of decadence and on achieving the goal of a reborn national or ethnic community. This project involves the regeneration of both the political culture and of the social and ethnic culture that underpins it, and in some cases involved the eugenic concept of rebirth based on social doctrine.

In short, Fascism is when a group of nationalists declare themselves a master race, seize control of the state and wipe out anyone who isn't part of the master race.

When we analyze the actions and ideological rhetoric of politically militant, socially conservative Christians, we see they are a fascist movement.

The encyclopedia's definition above says fascists are ultra-nationalists who mobilize energies to resist perceived community decadence. This refers mainly to the Nazis' genocidal campaigns against anyone who wasn't a pure-blooded German. But in regards to The Christian Right today, they mobilize their energies to resist and destroy anything that isn't Christian. The following quote sums it up well:

I think we all know Murder and Stealing is wrong by law, but the Ten Commandments was given by God to Moses, so that the people of Israel would form Morals preventing them from Murdering and Killing. Even with that people still murder and steal after secular laws were formed. My point was a large part of the failing of America has been because we fail to recognize our ďMoral CompassĒ anymore. I could trace it back to when God was kicked out of schools in the 60ís. We never had murders in schools and we hardly had murder in our towns like we do now. The Secular Laws do not change the criminal mind, thatís why the Ten Commandments were written by God, it was meant to be written on our hearts.

The author of this quote is blaming atheists for "kicking God out of public schools." By this, he means the only way people can be moral, humanitarian and law-abiding is by believing in and obeying the Christian God. This argument has no leg to stand on because there is no evidence anywhere proving that all, or even a significant amount, of American criminals are atheists who committed crimes in the name of their disbelief. Militant Christians make these kinds of arguments because they believe they are a master race that will save the community from decadence if you join them.

Numerous Christian schools teach Creationism, which says science is a useless concept because we live in a world of magic that is controlled by a supernatural puppet master in the sky. Their goal is to dismantle rational inquiry, as seen in the quote below:

....critical thinking skills rationalize away faith and any hint of religion. Its like a program made by the public school system to formulate minds that leads to a society free from religion....

Add this to the time 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum urged states to defund universities because he thought colleges make people stop having faith in God.

These arguments, of course, are untrue because most college graduates remain theists. Atheists with and without college degrees still make up a minority of America's population. Yet these militant Christians wish to dismantle rational inquiry because they feel it leads to atheism, which they feel is decadent to the community. The Christian Right's crusade against reason are identical to the Nazi's book burning ceremonies, and Big Brother's Ministry of Truth.

The encyclopedia's quote above says fascists are ultra nationalists. Militant Christians often argue America was founded as a Christian theocracy because they think the U.S. Constitution is based on the Holy Bible's dogma. By combining nationalist pride with Christianity, they feel they have a patriotic duty to wipe out atheists.

A bill in the Palmetto State's legislature would require the phrase, One Nation Under God to be posted on public schools' property. The motto puts words in American atheists' mouths, and excludes them by calling them bad Americans. Militant Christians want this because, as the encyclopedia's quote above says, they wish to regenerate and bring rebirth to their militant Christian community. The state forces public school students against their will to attend those schools, and when the children are exposed to that motto while in a public school that has power and authority over them, the state, through fear, is compelling those children to both believe the motto and hate atheists.

In the novel, 1984, Big Brother flies large blimps outside of peoples' windows. The blimps say "Big Brother is watching you" and they have a scary picture of him. The ruling regime does this to paralyze their subjects' minds with fear so they'll behave. Fascism is similar to Totalitarianism in that they both are autocratic and exercise total control over their subjects. In the case being discussed, the state is coercing children through fear into hating atheists just like Big Brother forced his subjects to take part in his Two Minutes of Hate sessions.

Using religious freedom as their disguise, the Christian Right supported the following individuals:

-Steelworker Christ Routson. His boss fired him after he used his religion to harass two of his lesbian co-workers.

-Pastor Brian Ingalls. Maine's Attorney General Janet Mills sued this man for allegedly disrupting delivery of medical services at a Planned Parenthood clinic. His religion had nothing to do with it.

Militant Christians defend these kinds of people because they feel they have a moral imperative to persecute non-Christians.

Do not tolerate the intolerable. If you do, the intolerable will grow stronger.

IDC what window dressing is used -- no real Christian supports or promotes fascism.

This is an enormous problem for any sincere Christian who adheres to Catholism, Mormonism, or another uber-fascist "Christian" sect.

The KKK is to Christianity as Stalinism is to Communism.

Well, cultism, fanaticism and fascism in this country have a long history of co-opting Christianity to conceal their real nature.

Fascism can be anything. It can be Christian fascism, corporate fascism, liberal fascism, conservative fascism. You name it.
