Yeah, he sent them to Afghanistan where his surge failed costing the lives of thousands of US troops, while everything went to shit in Iraq.

The hunt for him had been going on long before Obama was president. The assets and methods were being put together to hunt him.

For me, health care but the down side, I don't think he fully thought it through about the costings. But, he had a go.

Any others? (Consider pros and cons before deciding it was a success).
Obama generally maintained or increased our world standing, and he was all in on the TPP.

Damn... if you think McCain is corrupt for putting his personal feelings first, how can you bear Trump?

Perhaps it's the racist bit that helps you overlook the egregious wrong you must suffer.

We're STILL in Afghanistan. America's longest war. We've been there now for ALMOST 17 years. Why hasn't Trump simply pulled ALL our troops home from Afghanistan, Libertine? Can you riddle us that? If it's such a terrible mistake that we're there, why hasn't Trump reversed it?

P.S. We pulled out of Iraq on the precise timetable established by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

While I was not President Obama's biggest fan, I do think he did accomplish some important tasks. I do think certain of them could have been accomplished better.

Initially, he maintained and expanded the TARP program created by the previous administration. This action avoided a potential major banking crisis. Additionally, upon completion, it generated a profit for the government.

I agree that a economic stimulus package was necessary, but a greater amount of it should have been dedicated to infrastructure financing as opposed to unemployment expansion and funding of bankrupt energy companies.

I agree that he had to address the General Motors and Chrysler's financial problems. Again I just disagreed with the manner in which he did so. I did not see that his approach saved the auto industry, rather it saved the UAW. Remember Ford and the foreign manufacturers down south were also part of the auto industry. The government did not need to assume ownership of the auto companies, the means of production, he could have supported court protections for corporate reorganizations as is the typical response. But that would have meant that the bond holders legal, underscore legal, first position would have been protected, and the UAW would have been rewarded less.

Needless to say, he must be praised for giving the orders to get bin Laden.

I also supported his use of drones in order to respond to those trying to kill us. It prevented additional dangers to our men and women in the military.

I supported his effort to give more flexibility to the States in the operation of their social programs.

His health care initiatives were successful in that finally something was being done about needed healthcare reform. I also like that the ACA was an effort for partnership of sorts between the government and commercial insurers. Without commercial insurers funding will become a major problem if funding was exclusively left to taxpayers. But again, the design could have been better. Rather than provide disincentives for employer based coverage, along with the grandfathering mandates on those programs, incentives for employer based coverage should have been made.

But while I may not have agreed with parts of his agenda, positions and policies, I never questioned his sincerity or that in his mind he was doing the right thing. Let's put it this way. If President Obama were to invite me to a round of golf, I'd accept in a heartbeat. I have no desire to play with our current President.
