I just thought this was interesting and strange, especially in light of upper education's appreciation of feminism and how feminism has gone along with untraditional family structures as well as tolerance of abortion.

There's a couple things about feminism to be considered from this:

    1. Will feminism decay over time because smart women aren't having kids?
    2. Has this trend always existed, and does it explain how feminism changed from it's first to second and third waves since smart women themselves didn't have kids, but others' kids had to interpret feminism for themselves?

I think the question is what happens 30-40 years from now? If fewer women have kids that can have detrimental effects on our social safety nets. Then if you buy into the thought that smart women have smart kids, then you must think less intelligent women have dumber kids? What does that end up meaning? Smart people will become extinct? Should we be more like Germany and Japan and pay women to have children?

I seem to recall statistics that showed that if introverted intelligent men mate with introverted intelligent women, and the women do not become pregnant until after 30, they are more likely to have an autistic child. Apparently, there is a "natural" penalty for nerds having children.

There's nothing to suggest that IQ is an entirely genetic trait. Genetics can play a minor role, but overall...No.

Yea it's real, but humanity has always been this way. The poor and dumb tend to outbreed the rich and smart.

I am not convinced that "evolution" is so straightforward.

Ugly people have beautiful children. Dumbasses have brilliant children.

In fact, IF evolution acts as per expected, then, the Human Species may be DE-evoloving.

And yet...that does not seem to be the case.

Most bright people have brighter than average children and vis versa. IQ is substantially heritable, although obviously environmental factors play a role. The thing most people ignore is heritability often comes more from grandparents.

Still...in the MODERN WORLD, this dynamic would imply either stagnant or DE-Evolution, as the struggle inherent in evolution is lightened.

    Well, except for "Looks."

Who knows, in 500 years, America might be a nation of goregous, good-looking buffoons. It would be Hollywood, from coast to coast!
