"me too", what? You don't do "prejudice awareness" class in military boot camps. The environment is completely different. Back then, they were deliberately trying to trigger a response. Boot camp prepares recruits for potential situations in a military confrontation. Not how to get along with your peers at the prom.

Most normal people prefer lip service-level respect to overt hostility.

Doesn't mean the lippers have no room for improvement.

I think given your extreme left views on socialism most would lump you in with being a liberal. Your comment however did not come off like you were talking about most liberals being "self aware" that they hold prejudice views but more like they held prejudice views period. I know everybody holds prejudice views not just liberals and not just white liberals. No matter what color you are, you have racist views, even if you are of mixed race. The only difference is peoples reaction in society. Being self aware that you hold them and not being in denial that you don't hold them makes all the difference in the world. It forces you to double check your reaction to situations and question decisions before they are final. Ask yourself I'm I doing this because it's the right thing to do or am I making this decision through biased goggles?

I'll give you an example. I asked myself if I would have judged this kid as being born a pychopath based on what I know of him had he been black and the answer was yes. Pretty sure that this then was not based on the kids race. I go through the same mental check list in my head with every shooting, I wonder how many conservatives or extreme liberals (you) stand back and think like that? Do you see a black man convicted of a crime and automatically think he is innocent? I think you are trying to hard. If convicted I assume he is guilty regardless of his color until I am shown hard evidence.

From the late 70's to the late 80's, I was a consultant to the Howard University Hospital. It gave me the opportunity to form several friendships outside the business environment-golfing buddies. Admittedly, we didn't discuss racial issues often, but when we did, they were aware that I never lived in the inner city world and talked honestly and directly with them. They told me that they knew that I was not a "lilly white liberal". While I'm not exactly sure what they meant, they assured me that it was a compliment.

At another inner city hospital, the report on which I was working required the accumulation of "aged, pediatric and maternity" days. Meeting with the medical records manager, I explained that maternity days were self explanatory, aged were individuals over 65 years of age and pediatric were individuals 13 years of age or under. The manager asked me if an pediatric maternity patient was counted as one day or two. I must have looked at them like they had two heads and restated how a pediatric day was defined. It seems there were about 3 pediatric maternity days. Indeed, it was I that learned something that day. OBTW: it only counts as one day.

Are you taking personal responsiblity for YOUR support of Trump? Are you taking personal responsibility for still being a Republican depsite the Republican Party allowing Trump to become the nominee? Are you throwing other Republicans on your sword for supporting TRUMP while still claiming to be Republican yourself? ARE YOU AS FED UP AS JOE SCARBOROUGH WITH THE GOP AND BASICALLY GIVEN UP YOUR GOP MEMBERSHIP? THIS IS NO LONGER THE GOP WITH TRUMP AT THE HELM?

Do you know what falling on your sword means and what throwing other white people on their sword means?

Seriously...you?!? I am not trying to be mean or disrespectful here, but let's face it...you are probably one of the most closed minded, set in her ways people at this site.
