AP-NORC Poll: Most Americans say Trump is racist

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than half of Americans, including large majorities of blacks and Hispanics, think President Donald Trump is a racist. More than half think his policies have made things worse for Hispanics and Muslims, and nearly half say they’ve made things worse for African Americans.

According to a new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 57 percent of Americans think Trump’s policies have been bad for Muslims, and 56 percent think they’ve been bad for Hispanics. Forty-seven percent, including three-quarters of blacks, think they’ve been bad for African Americans.

Fifty-seven percent of all adults, including more than 8 in 10 blacks, three-quarters of Hispanics and nearly half of whites, said they think Trump is racist. Eighty-five percent of Democrats consider Trump racist, but just 21 percent of Republicans agree.

well, that's gotta suck. No. One poll , in of itself, should not be treated as the official word. But, even so, 8 in 10 blacks, three quarters of Hispanic and nearly half of whites? Yeeesh. Those are so pretty grim numbers. Condi Rice was just on MSNBC and she says that she doesn't know what's in his heart. All she knows is he treated her with respect. That's true. We don't know what's in his heart. Could be it's all an act to please those whom he think he needs politically. But, does it even matter one way or another whether he truly is a racist? The majority polled seem to think he is.

Anyone with a rational brain knows he is a racist.

wonder why there's such a divide between Republican's and Democrat's? Could it be that the GOP is finding blatant acts of racism more acceptable? Are they in denial? Is it the politically expedient thing to do? Can they relate? What is it?

They are racist themselves and feel they can deny it if they deny their messiah is.

oh, I dunno. With all the other multiple breaking news stories we're deluged with everyday, Trump not being a racist might be all they have left to hang on to.

there sure is a hell of a lot of evidence that he is. The argument I presented in the OP is the most rational one. It's the only viable argument I've heard that he's not. Otherwise, it's always just personal attacks by people who don't seem to realize they're racist themselves. They feel emboldened by Trump being elected. I was hoping to get at least one Trump supporter to comment on the poll. Oh, well.
