I tend to disagree. 1. it provides legal cover your ass for the company, and 2) it provides a cottage industry teaching the classes for people with little or not marketable skills.
CYA is likely a motive. Does government compel industry to wallow in diversity, especially if they do business with the govt?

Yes, they certainly are. If a police officer comes to some house and a woman makes a bogus claim that "he hit me!" They will lock his ass up and it will just about ruin his life. If a man makes a similar claim, he would get laughed at even though it is common for that to happen. Woman physically attack men at about the same rates as men attack women. The work place is no different; women are treated like sacred camels and men often lose their jobs over innocent comments like "you look nice today!" Good job America, you destroyed families, emasculated males and made them cosmic jokes out of having a penis.

All I have to say, is if anyone ever lies on you and says that you did something that you did not do -- leave them and NEVER go back. Women, just like men, can be vial, evil and dangerous.

Don't tell me, I know better. Too bad you have your head up your ass or you would see what is right in front of you.

I don't play that game. If my gal is mad at me, she can sleep on the couch -- I'm not moving. If I'm pissed off, I say something, I don't walk around like a sulking 10 year old school girl. Too bad if anyone else doesn't like me acting like a man. I couldn't care less.

This exact thing actually happened to a friend of mine who was visiting from France when her hotel room got robbed.

    So it happens.

Now what on earth this has to do with "white privilege" is anyone's guess. This has to be one of the most lamest examples of supposed racism I have ever seen.
Because if you're white and you suck up to minorities by disparaging your own race, you get "Race Dollars" or some such nonsense.....(?)

Well, no. "Speculation" is another way of saying "we don't know, but we're going to pretend we do." It is why trial procedure has an objection for "calls for speculation." A person cannot presume to knowledge he or she does not have.

Indeed. I remember a former client whose then-wife called the police on him. Despite the fact that she had been hitting him in the face where he had just had root canal surgery (while holding the baby), he spit on her a couple times to get her to stop - which she did, and then called the police. They arrested him and the DA charged him with harassment. He had to pay attorneys to take it to a jury, which acquitted him upon my argument for spitting in self-defense. We had even gotten her to admit she hit him first (which probably is what made the difference to the jury), which is what he had told the police in the first place - and he was arrested and charged anyway. In my professional experience, this happens to women far less often, and more often than not (nowadays) in the context of a woman-woman relationship.

This is very mild compared to some of the other horror stories I have heard.

Partner violence by women is one of the most contentious subjects in social science. The first large-scale study of domestic abuse, the 1975 National Family Violence Survey conducted by the late University of New Hampshire sociologist Murray Straus and his colleague Richard Gelles (now at the University of Pennsylvania), found that similar numbers of women and men admitted to assaulting a spouse or partner in the previous 12 months. The researchers were skeptical initially, assuming most female violence had to be in self-defense, though in many cases the wife was the self-reported sole perpetrator. Later surveys showed that in mutually violent relationships, women were as likely as men to be the aggressors. These findings have been confirmed in more than 200 studies.

Critics have challenged the methodology of much of this research because it focuses on couple conflict and omits post-separation attacks. Yet two major federally backed surveys using different methods — the 2000 National Violence Against Women Survey by the National Institute of Justice and the 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey by the Centers for Disease Control — found that about 40% of those reporting serious assaults by current or former partners in the past year were men, and most of their attackers were women.

When wives beat their husbands, no one wants to believe it

Exactly. It's about being part of the majority and not having to "prove" you are not a criminal, thug, or dumb.

    True.

    It is just a myth.

Was that a long time ago? Times have changed. In Texas an Arizona at least. Are we leaders now in gender equality?

50/50 extra scrutiny would be heaped on a black guy. Fuck who are we kidding? A black guy going into the lobby alone without some kind of credentials related in someway to taking posession of the lens would LIKELY have resulted in scrutiny, or 'sorry, we need the room occupant to let you in.'

In some towns, he wouldn't be able to walk across the lobby!
