And there were, btw, plenty of Ukrainians working as guards in some of those death camps. Something Kiev does NOT want to talk about today. Nor, about who shot many of those Jews at Babiy Yar... Plenty were NOT shot by Germans, lets put it that way.
Thanks from Hollywood and Ian Jeffrey

I think Hitler organized some 10 divisions of Ukrainian troops and used them for rear area security and police duties.

    Yes, SS Halychina, etc.

In modern Ukraine, they are glorified by nationalists and their government. While those who fought in the Red Army are spat upon, assaulted, green dye thrown on them, etc

What's funny is, same sort of scum who do that shit suddenly lose all their courage, when get captured by the separatists in Donbass

Then, suddenly, it's "brothers, don't kill me, please, you know I always loved Russia, and Donbass too. I respect the Red Army and their veterans. I never even wanted to be here!" lol

Pathetic cowards... I have no respect for what Ukraine has turned into. At all. Putin is not a good guy, sure. But neither are the ones in Kiev. The West is only dirtying itself, getting involved with them.

Well, what do you expect? After all, Ukraine was the birthplace of Russia.

lol That's what they keep repeating...

Some idiot once said this "Kiev is Mother of Russian Cities", I can't remember who it was, some writer, I think, and to this day, other idiots, in both countries, repeat this nonsense, because they don't know better.

Eastern Slavic Rus civilization began in the city of Novgorod, in what is now North-West Russia.

That's where northern Slavic early tribes mixed with Varyag Vikings. That is how "Rus" nation was formed, known at first as Novgorod Republic, actually.

This entity eventually conquered what is now the Kiev area, and some time later, that became the new capital for awhile too. But the Tsars who ruled from there were all Novgorodians, from Rurikovich Dynasty, descendants of Rurik, the first original Viking ruler of Novgorod.

After the capital moved to Kiev, yes, the new state was from then on known as "Kievan Rus".

From Kievan Rus, eventually, three separate new nations would branch out: Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians.

But Kiev is not "Mother" of Russia. Novgorod sure as hell is.

Novgorod even holds the very first, original Kremlin

Nice standing wall though it probably must have been designed before cannons.

I don't think, before development of artillery, they really used catapults or such, in medieval Russia...

Keep in mind, aside from those few Kremlins, most medieval Russians lived in forests, and vast majority of structures they built, in those days, including fortresses, were wooden.

Attackers usually would simply try to burn through a wall, with fire arrows and such

    Thanks from OldGaffer
