Then how should she have proceeded? How else does one enforce rules, and the refusal to leave when asked for refusal to comply? If she had private security at her disposal to enforce the rules or escort the man out, would that make a difference to you?

What amazes me about these calls is why do the police show up at all. Here you are sitting in your cop car and the call comes in "man swimming with socks on, get there quickly". You drop your donuts, turn on the siren and like Barney Fife you haul ass to the crime scene. Once there, you assess the situation looking for any crime you can remember that justifies your response. As you see the man accused of the crime is black, you smile and say to yourself "we got ourselves a career criminal here, book em Danno".

If there was a protocol to have security in place as a back up when there is a problem, than I would not object.

There's a connection to Trump? I must have missed it. Keep up the good work though, I can't get enough of the extreme shark jumping, wildly and ineffectually flailing, apoplectic anti-Trump hysteria. It never gets old.

No, I suggested black lifeguards (among other lifeguards). More compliance, less friction than security guards. Might even lower your liability insurance rates.

I had nothing to help him with other than advise to walk the dog on a leash at night like everyone else with an illegal dog did. At night there was a sea of large dog walkers who were hiding from this enforcement, 99% white people. One (white) guy was smuggling his dog in and out everyday in a laundry sack - they were coming for all the dogs they could see, having nothing to do with the color of the people.

It was horrible, but there was nothing racist about it.
Again, you cannot know that there was no racist intent. You can't read the minds of whoever your HOA hired to enforce the banned dog breeds rules.

And even if you could, you cannot label your Chow-owning neighbor a liar for saying he believes this enforcement action was racially motivated. That's his opinion, based off his life experience, and he is almost certainly not lying about it.

    REASONABLE PEOPLE CAN DISAGREE.

No, that isn't how it works. They call and say that someone is refusing to leave an area they have been dis-invited from. It's called trespassing at that point. Socks in the pool or even worse pool violations are not laws they are coming to enforce, they are coming to enforce property rights.

The man chose to leave when police arrives, which is how everyone hopes it goes.

One hopes, but apparently the racist white cow who called in the "touring college campuses whilst brown" noncrime actually reported exactly that to 911.

OTOH, all these calls have the potential to blow up into a brawl, so I doubt the police could responsibly ignore any of them.

? I never called him a liar. He was my friend. I disagreed that it was racially motivated based on the white guy I saw smuggling his dog in and out in a laundry bag, and he told me why, because he was being fined over his pit bull. Another women (white), when I asked if her dog was friendly whispered 'yes, but come in for them to play' and then tearfully told me how she had to get rid of the dog or move, and this dog wasn't even a banned breed, he was just over the weight limit.

I can't know the minds of the HOA board members at that time, no, but I could see their actions. 1 black person was enforced along with about 10 white people. It was selective in this sense: it depended on whether there were complaints. It was luck of the draw.

Having a CHOW and letting it go around OFF LEASH is begging for complaints.
    Thanks from Madeline

Yup, plus, when people who know each other have conflict and make accusations of racism against each other, NOBODY can really know.

People come to hate their neighbors with a passion for reasons that escape from logic, even reality, all the time.

Sounds like your HOA's dog rules could stand some revision.
