Humans need nature. We did not evolve to live in concrete boxes.

Whaca think? Do you get enough nature?
This cool Cat loves nature. Hummingbirds are my thing. Could watch them all day. Great stress relievers. Well, that and sex of course.

They don't look tasty, don't have the nice large breast that our pigeons have.

You can have a posse of pigeon friends! I sat in a park once and bought cheese popcorn from a vendor for myself. Then I realized they wanted it. I poured it over myself and they were gentle as could be. Couldn't even feel them taking the pieces from my head.

I had a neighbor they would all land on her even w/o food. Those were some fat, well-bed birds at that place. Picky. Bread? We don't want no stinking bread. Protein, lady, get us some protein. We like CHEESE, by the way!

There aren't any here. I miss them :-(
    Thanks from Madeline

I have a bird feeder and love to watch the birds and squirrels. The people I work for (I am a caregiver for their disabled son) have a big dining room window and two bird feeders in the yard. They get all kinds of critters due to their being a small pond and a wooded area in close proximity. So when I'm feeding my patient, I get to watch deer, groundhogs, squirrels and in the spring families of ducks and geese with the little ones in tow eating. It's awesome and very calming.

Isn't that astonishing? That we drove a species into extinction for no damned reason.

I hadn't heard about hats - what I heard was that they were easy to kill, so sailors killed them. I come from an essentially Calvinist culture, perhaps!

I think you must be confusing the dodo with some other species. I have found NO evidence that dodo birds were ever used to make hats for women. There may have been multiple reasons for the extinction of the dodo bird, but over-hunting must be the primary reason, as these birds had no fear of humans and were flightless....and thus were VERY easy prey for hungry sailors.
