    I think that's funny, Ian! I never thought I'd hear anyone say that about me. Actually no, I do not dislike Microsoft. I have their products and they have worked quite well for me. I do not however, have Windows 10. What I strive to do is after stories and reports are released on the Internet that may certainly be of help to others here, it appears good to bring up a thread to make them more fully aware of something that may concern them and the OS they are using. That's why I started my COMPUTER HEADS-UP! thread with a poll to show who might be possibly affected by what and to give them the opportunity to check things out for themselves as information becomes available. So far, it appears to be working well since we are on our way towards receiving nearly 12,000 visits! That is laudable for that type thread in this type forum I would think.
    Thanks from Ian Jeffrey

    Twitter advising all 330 million users to change passwords after bug exposed them in plain text
    By Chaim Gartenberg

    "Twitter is urging all of its more than 330 million users to immediately change their passwords after a bug exposed them in plain text. While Twitter’s investigation showed that there was no evidence that any breach or misuse of the unmasked passwords occurred, the company is recommending that users change their Twitter passwords out of an “abundance of caution,” both on the site itself and anywhere else they may have used that password, which includes third-party apps like Twitterrific and TweetDeck."

    This report comes with a sense of URGENCY for Twitter users!

    Windows 10 April 2018 Update Failing with Errors 0xc1900209, 0xc1900101 for Some
    Some PCs can’t be upgraded to Windows 10 version 1803
    By Bogdan Popa

    "Upgrading a system to the newly-released Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) isn’t as easy as you’d be tempted to believe, as the process sometimes fails unexpectedly with error messages that don’t tell anything about the cause of the problem."
    "This is what happened in the case of several Windows 10 users to turned to Microsoft’s Community forums to report the issues (here, here, here, and in many other threads)."

    ================================================== ==

    It's good ol' WINDOWS 10 again! There are those who thought it might be somewhat stabilized by now but apparently that is not the case.

    No. You never post about problems with Apple products and you often post inaccurate information regarding Microsoft products.

    This is an Apple fanboi thread.

    When the stories and reports come in and appear on the Internet we just have to take them as they come and show what's there so I don't know why you would think it is "...inaccurate information..." about MS since there are links to those stories for you to also check out.

    Many times APPLE/MAC products are not featured in these reports therefore, can't just make things up about them. Will see if there is other information around.

    Apple Buys Magazine Reading App, Kills Off Windows 10 Version
    By Bogdan Popa

    “Texture is an all-access pass to the world’s best magazines. To keep things working smoothly, older versions of the app sometimes need to be retired. After June 30th, 2018, the Texture Windows app will no longer be available. Your Texture subscription will continue to be available on compatible phones or tablets running iOS or Android and on Fire HD tablets along with ongoing access to all the magazines you have selected as your favorites,” an announcement on the official website reads."
    "Before accusing Apple of becoming a Windows 10 hater, it’s important to know that Texture has rarely received updates in the Microsoft Store."

    ================================================== ==

    Are you an APPLE user who uses TEXTURE? If so, this is something you should become aware of.

    Exclamation Apple Gets Insanely Close to Becoming First $1 Trillion Company

    Apple Gets Insanely Close to Becoming First $1 Trillion Company
    By Bogdan Popa

    "Apple has long been projected to become the world’s first company worth $1 trillion, and by the looks of things, the Cupertino-based giant has jumped insanely close to reaching this historical milestone."
    "On Monday, APPL stock reached $187.60 per share in morning trading hours, pushing the company to a total market value of $945 billion. This is $55 billion behind the $1 trillion milestone that Apple is heading towards, and which is expected to finally be touched later this year, most probably after the launch of the 2018 generation of iPhones."

    APPLE is back in the news! This time to announce their near Trillion Dollar Asset Company! Great work APPLE! Shows you're doing something great!

    Windows Under Attack as NSA Exploit Usage Skyrockets
    EternalBlue-based attacks growing, security firm says
    By Bogdan Popa

    "EternalBlue, the stolen NSA exploit that was used to create the infamous WannaCry ransomware, is back in business, only that this time usage appears to skyrocket, according to security vendor ESET."
    "Researcher Ondrej Kubovic notes that while WannaCry attacks have dropped, EternalBlue is still around, and the first months of 2018 brought a worrying increase in the number of attacks based on this exploit."

    ================================================== ==

    This should serve as a 🚩 Warning to all computer users including those who use other devices to navigate through the Internet. Malware and Ransomeware continues to be pervasive and a threat and one should have their guard up at all times in order to protect from such attacks.

    Major PGP/GPG and S/MIME Email Encryption Vulnerability Discovered
    Attackers could reveal the plaintext of encrypted emails
    By Bogdan Popa

    “To create these exfiltration channels, the attacker first needs access to the encrypted emails, for example, by eavesdropping on network traffic, compromising email accounts, email servers, backup systems or client computers. The emails could even have been collected years ago.”
    "The Electronic Frontier Foundation has published a blog post to warn about the flaw, explaining that email encryption plugins in the most popular clients are exposed, including Thunderbird with Enigmail, Apple Mail with GPGTTools, and Outlook with Gpg4win."

    ================================================== ==

    Everyone uses E-Mail. Do you encrypt it? Now there is a vulnerability so time to take extra precautions to assure that you are not hit hard.

    Exclamation Microsoft Under Fire for Re-Installing Windows 10 Bloatware After Every Update

    Microsoft Under Fire for Re-Installing Windows 10 Bloatware After Every Update
    April 2018 Update brings back apps users removed
    By Bogdan Popa

    "This time, it all started after the April 2018 Update re-installed a series of games which users previously removed, including Bubble Witch 3 Saga and Candy Crush Saga. It’s not a secret that many Windows 10 users uninstall these games when upgrading their systems to Windows 10 or perform a clean install, but the recently-launched April 2018 Update brings them back and makes it harder to get rid of them."
    "This aggressive tactic is rapidly backfiring for Microsoft, and while we can’t quote many of the comments because of the language angry users have used, there are lots of Windows 10 users considering a potential switch to a different platform."
    "Earlier this year, Microsoft promised to get rid of bloatware in Windows 10, but only for the Workstation SKU, leaving users of Home and Pro to continue their fight with unwanted apps."

    ================================================== ==

    Are you running into this problem as a Windows 10 user? Does it bother you or do you just simply overlook the slight inconvenience? Or are you wanting out and to go with another OS or manufacturer?
