Now You Can Buy A Wooly Mammoth Family!

A FAMILY of four mammoths is to be sold at auction.

It will be the first time a group of the Ice Age giants are going under the hammer and are expected to sell for between 250,000 and 400,000.

The sale takes place at Summers Place Auctions in Billingshurst on November 21.

The family consists of a male and a female mammoth, a teenage daughter and a one-year-old baby.

They were all found together during building works near the Siberian city of Tomsk in 2002.

If I was obscenely wealthy, this is something I might be tempted to buy. Mammoths were pretty awesome sauce.

Just unsure about the ethics of privately collecting scientifically precious fossils.

    Your thoughts?

Think I would rather have a T-Rex skeleton.

Well, I suppose you'd be able to display one, if you were obscenely wealthy.

    Go for it.

Were I obscenely wealthy, which is unfortunately not the case, I'd buy them and donate them to a museum. Of course it would have to be called the Dittohead Not! display.
    Thanks from Madeline

I'm sure they would have ended up in a museum anyways.

I think they have quite a few of them already however although I've never had the pleasure of seeing one yet.
