The first Intermediate Black Hole found in our GALAXY!!

The first IMBH ever discovered in our milky way galaxy has been uncovered by astronomers.
This is thought to be the 2ND LARGEST BLACK HOLE IN OUR ENTIRE GALAXY!!! (for the moment anyway)
Massive black hole 100,000 times bigger than the Sun discovered | Fox News

it is 100,000 times the mass of the sun. just for reference the super massive black hole at the centre of our galaxy is 4 million times our sun. we've uncovered this supermassive one long ago and lots of 'small' singularities but now this is the first intermediate-sized one we have spotted. perhaps unsurprisingly it is located near the galatic centre- which one would imagine to be a very hectic region containing many wonders and mysteries which we are yet to discover.

apparently we've only officially discovered 60 black holes in our galaxy but the assumption is that hundreds of millions of them exist.

I wonder just how much or even how little we actually know about our galaxy- what mysteries and terrors await us in the future??
    Thanks from Rorschach

Gotta say that Fox News story is utterly idiotic. No reference to anything verifiable, riddled with inaccuracies, and I don't think whatever discovery it's referencing is in the Milky Way. A binary black hole system was recently discovered in a not-too-distant other galaxy, but I'm not seeing anything verifying this.

If only we could put our resources together and develop the technology to go out and explore it.

I was born a few centuries too early I believe.

Centuries? Perhaps hundreds of millions of years too early, Cyanohominoid, as long as we don't like to grow, spiritually too.
