It's unlikely. The European climate has never been considered conducive to the evolution of early primates. These primates were scavengers, not hunters. And that far from the equator, scavenger food is much scarcer; a single winter would have wiped them out.

I'll wait until the study has been peer-reviewed and published. Currently, it's only on Researchgate, which doesn't require any peer-review.

The German teeth are twice as old as previously found African skeletons.

No peer review, therefore "green" "unripe" "untested".

Bit of a head scratching topic because finding out if our ancestors lurched out of Europe, Africa, or some Island in the South Atlantic; it doesn't pay your mortgage. If we find out for sure, now what?

Actually, the question isn't whether the tooth is older than African teeth but whether they're of early humans or another branch of primates that died off.

It adds to the knowledge we have of the nature and history of our own species. Granted, it doesn't directly benefit you personally, but that's no reason not to try to understand the natural forces that make up who we are and ultimately the nature of the universe itself.
