Maybe there is something to be said for being just above average and well adjusted?
Few people in my hearing have ever remarked on how well-adjusted I am. Lol.

I tend to get feedback like "You can be rather intimidating when you are on a crusade". Or "I want you to help me if I am ever in trouble".

It's more like 25 - 50 at any given time.

Bear in mind the cycle for each serial killer is different. Every few months, every few years, but they are still active if they are planning on killing again and aren't caught.

If there are 50 active, then each average out to about 3 killings per year.

Might be just me but it seems like Cleveland is a ripe city for a serial killer. Like the Seattle/ Portland version of the Midwest...

Certainly has been since I moved here. Anthony Sowell killed at least 11 women and stored their decaying corpses inside his house.

Police responding to complaints about a bad smell, as well as reports of missing women, were never connected to him. He was caught because he blew off his probation officer for the 1,001th time and the cops went to his address. Actually stood on his porch. Being vets, they recognized the odor of decomposition.

    Horrible case.

Then there was Ariel Castro, who kidnapped 3 girls, keeping them chained in his basement for a decade.

There are some 500,000 missing people in the U.S. Reducing that number by the total of unidentified bodies, it's horrible to realize how many Ariel Castro types must be active.

I think we should have an annual "look in the basement" day, where the cops search every home, business, etc. for kidnap victims.
