Some of the SOUNDS we are emitting in the oceans are LOUD and can travel hundreds of miles, apparently.
I have long heard claims by activists that navy sonar is harmful and/or hurtful to cetaceans but am not aware of any rigorous study to have concluded that.

There are many reasons suspected but its hard to nail down for each incident since we'd have to monitor them before it happens.

Sonar, magnetic lines shifts due to solar radiation, attempting to help an already stranded whale.

Historical records document beaching as far back as 300 B.C.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it isn't a cause, but I question whether that is any kind of proof.

I think your second sentence is quite an exaggeration, but I'm also not claiming it is any kind of proof. I am claiming that we really need to urgently study this.

Sonar is likely the cause. Odds are there was a sub operating somewhere in the vicinity. That and of course sonor searching devices on other ships looking for a sub.

As someone trained in a related area that rears fish for living (yes I know they are mammals) I would want to investigate a possible pathogenic cause. I know with fish certain bacterial and viral pathogens will wreck havoc with equilibrium and make fish so weak they can't navigate any kind of current. The fact that some of these animals seem to wash back up after being rescued seems to tell me they are weakened. And they don't all have to be in a state of morbidity. If one or just a few get stranded due to weakness I could see these tight knit sociable animals attempting to come to the rescue and gettin stranded themselves.

Even if they have been tested for pathogens and come up negative it doesn't mean there isn't something out there we haven't identified yet.

Another thing I have learned about raising animals is there are pathogens out here that have no effect on an animal as some in fact live inside their bodies with no adverse effects. However stress this animals and you get a compromised immune system and that same animal gets sick.

These whales travel in pods. The pods stick together. They do things in groups. This group decided to swim to a place where they ended up getting stranded. Whales are often smart and social. Some being stranded my have resulted in more and more of them staying nearby to try to help those that were stranded.

What actual evidence is there that people caused those whales to kill themselves? If none, why should we be start with the assumption humans did something to cause it?
I think it was a question without that assumption.

Oh! Thanks! You stole what I was gonna say. But I think they chose stranding themselves because whales don't like Kool Ade. BTW Willy Jones was their leader. Hey, I gotta salvage something here.
