    Natural Home Remedies

Does anyone else have some home remedies that work? Other than having a good drink or two?! When feeling ill, I mix a tablespoon with honey, apple cider vinegar, and chopped garlic. Bye, bye, germs (and everybody else)! I also take zinc at the onset of not feeling well. Another thing I can't be without: coconut oil. When swishing first thing, it really prevents tooth decay and whitens the teeth. Don't swallow it! Should be some interesting reactions on this one...

For heartburn I mix a teaspoon of baking soda in about 4 oz of water and drink it right down. Works pretty damn well!

I can't stand coconut so I won't be drinking coconut oil.

Warm (non-iodized) salt water and hydrogen peroxide are excellent treatments for infections ranging from skin lacerations to sore throats. I tend to avoid popular, yet unproven herbal remedies.

Essential oil of eucalyptus, diluted in water, sprayed on bed linens to aid sleep for a congested person.

Real eucalyptus branches, tied, strung from the showerhead to release their oils during a shower.
    Relieves coughing, congestion.

Rub vap-o-rub on the soles of the feet of a baby with a stuffy nose, or on the chest of anyone older with breathing problems.

Homemade vap-o-rub is as effective and far less expensive.

Diluted essential oil of any mint will prevent insects and spiders from entering your home, if sprayed around windows and doors.

    Meadow Rue.

My mother use to use crushed rue and olive oil for drops for ear ache.

rub cut garlic on a bee sting or insect bite.

My mother had my sisters drink Knox gelatin in orange juice for their hair and nails.
