Reunion Of Chimpanzee With Foster Parents

This video has gone viral. Not sure where to post this, Science Forum seemed best, I guess.

Rather touching. Chimpanzee also bonded with family dog.

Video takes about a minute to load, by the way. Kind of annoying....

Yes. Young chimpanzees are endearing and heartwarming. Adult chimpanzees are terrifying and dangerous. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to get in a cage with an adult male chimpanzee.

A man out here in Colorado had a 'pet' chimpanzee that got out of his cage one day, and proceeded to 'reward' his owner by ripping his testicles off.

They do grow up, and turn nasty.
    Thanks from Madeline

I remember that one. The Cleveland Clinic did her face reconstruction. Apparently that Chimp weight 200 pounds. I was shocked they could get that big.

Monkey's of all types are dirty animals to have in the house. Remember the stories about people adopting baby monkeys to replace children? I read they can live 40 years but you have to change their diapers. Who would want a pet where you would have to change its diapers for 40 years? Plus they were destructive.

OK, this is one of my pet peeves. Chimpanzees are APES, and apes are not monkeys. Monkeys are not apes, and apes are not monkeys. The two groups are completely separate groups of animals, though related. But they are no more closely related than are, say, bears to dogs. Whenever I hear someone see a chimpanzee and call it a 'big monkey', I get my dander up. It's as, well, uneducated, as looking at a bear and calling it a dog. Just sayin'.

Here's a link on the attack I referenced, but it took place in California, not Colorado; not sure where I got the wrong idea on that:

Here's some fun trivia. There have been at least six recorded instances of chimpanzees kidnapping, killing and eating human babies.
Don't be fooled by how cute they look in little train engineer outfits; chimpanzees are assholes. https://listverse.com/2017/03/19/10-...r-to-humanity/

They're about 3 times stronger than humans.
    Thanks from Madeline
