Thread: Who was smarter?

Who do yall think was smarter Albert Einstien or Isaac Newton?

newton. we discussed this in my college physics class and watched several professors' presentations and every last one of them claimed newton to be greater than einstein

stephen hawking is quite remarkable despite his physical disabilites... he could be the next einstein or newton...

neither.

it is unfair to say whos smarter than who. who really knows what one is thinking, or in this respect, what each "contestant" was thinking back then?

one question: by which method are you using to measure smartness?

im using my eenie meenie minie moe theory which is tried and true

well, if you say so, but what is the context of the choices, and which attribute are you going by?

im going by scientific approach to theories and slef-made educational experiences as well as the published and private accomplishments of the two. newton was better at all

well, i feel dumb.. some one remind me who this newton guy is.

newton is the apple from tree myth- he discovered what gravity was and had 3 major laws governing the principles of gravity on earth and throughout what we know in the universe today

einstein further expanded newtons ideas of gravity/energy in creating his universal theory of relativity (e=mc^2), yet newtone could have made this theory had he fulfilled his life and wasnt a homosexual.

so since einstein didnt discover a new concept, just expanded an existing one, newton is the better scientist
