I have started to leave the CULT!!!

    The P.C Cult that is.

We bought a I PAD 3 and are seriously thinking of going all Apple.

Who else has had their eyes opened to Apple?

    Meh...

I started on an Apple-IIe, and have owned almost every Apple product since then.

I've also written device drivers for their operating systems, both the old ones and the new ones.

What I think is, Apples are good for a few well defined things. Creative-artists love 'em because of the application software, and internet users have been enamored because they're relatively free of viruses and worms compared to PC's.

But they simply can't compete in the business world. The richness of the Microsoft software in the business area is unsurpassed. That's why you never see Apples in corporate offices.

So, like, I have a Mac for my ProTools, and a PC for my Excel, and several flavors of Unix for development work (because the Unix development environment is the best there is, it is and always has been miles beyond anything Microsoft has ever brought to the table).

"All Apple" is just a stupid marketing trick. I don't think it would benefit me to think in those terms.

This post seems more appropriate to have been made in 1989.
Apple no longer has a monopoly on any particular graphics program (Adobe products) like they did back n the day, and there's Microsoft Office for Mac now too.

ProTools on Windows is notoriously unreliable.

Microslop Office for Mac doesn't work (deliberately so, I'll bet).

The thing is, the Windows operating system (NT) is a "real" operating system, and MacOS isn't. However, you can do things with MacOS that you can't do with Windows, "because" it's not entirely clean.

And finally there's the large issue of information security, which is a huge can of worms in the Microslop world. They've even gone so far as to redirect brower requests to microsoft.com for "verification".

I've been trying to convince myself to spend 3X more for an Apple than a comparable PC but I just can't do it.
I have no need for great graphics so what is the real advantage to Apple for just internet browsing?

My wife as a Mac Book pro and love it. She uses it fr surfing the web mainly. I installed Microsoft Office on it and haven't ad any problems. If I create a spreadsheet, it has always converted seamlessly onto my pc, so I can't complain..

I love my IPad for a few reasons, I dont go anywhere without it. First reason is obvious, it's mobile but 10 times better than trying to use a freakin phone..! I like having new apps and music anytime I want, and it's grat to get the news.

War I don't like is the keyboard, there are no arrows and is slower than my fingers to react. Posting here s way too frustrating, and I'll leave all the mistakes to orove t. Without arrows I annot fix those words easily enough for my hyper active brain. It's drives me insane...! Riding on PH is awesome, bu posting sucks. I cannot post pictures and vids I've been going back to my pc whni wt to. I also love/hate the frigging spell check. I live it when it recognizes an error correctly but hate it because it corrects acronyms and abbreviations incorrectly all the time, then without arrow keys to go ack, it makes me want to jump off a bridge. Ths pst as aken me ten times as long o write a I would n. y pc... IF you can ven read it.....!!

As far as spell check is concerned, have you tried the Google Chrome browser? (If you misspell a word it immediately highlights it in red & gives you options to change it.)
I think it will work with Apple but not sure.
