Yet the US still ranks the worst of every developed country for maternal deaths. In some countries in Europe, they don't even have maternity areas in major hospitals since they don't want the mother and infant in a place where there is disease and bacteria. So they have separate birthing centers or closed wings of hospitals to keep them away.

I know locally our hospital opened up a surgical center and abortion is on the list of "day surgeries" they perform. It certainly also makes the procedure safer since extremists that protest PP clinics will no longer be able to harm or scare anyone.
I doubt abortion will go mainstream so long as there are people out protesting abortion providers. In many communities doctors won't provide abortions just because they don't want to deal with the consequences in other areas of their lives.

Just for everyone's information, since the question was brought up earlier in the thread: Abortion rates in the US have been going down steadily for almost 30 years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aborti..._United_States

They are trained and certified by medical groups. Germany trains them alongside doctors for simple births. Here in the US doctors want a monopoly on birth and scare women away from it. The cost is staggering too. Europe keeps costs well contained because many use midwives for standard births. Here our rates are high because doctors treat it like a major medical surgery. They way overuse C-sections as well, many times for convenience.

I can believe all of this. The AMA does practice exclusionary unionism.

It's used as a political ISSUE....but the fact is, that even Republican politicians don't REALLY want to see Roe overturned, since the majority of the country want Roe left intact and if it was overturned? REPUBLICANS would get blamed for it.
I want us all to admit that abortion is every female's private right and GTFO of the abortion wars. They are severely damaging to Americans and can never be won.

Nobody can "stop abortion" anymore than they can "stop menstruation" in America.

It is just so stupid and cruel for the Religious Reich to keep on about "banning abortion".

Several local OB/GYNs here in NH have now begun advertising that they will do abortions. Its changing, women with insurance or college women can now go into a doctors office and no one knows why they are there. No idiot is going to protest an OB/GYN office since a high percent of the women there are pregnant ones carrying to term. I have a friend that used to be a PP nurse and she said the insurance just to operate the clinic is staggering since the chance of danger is sky high.
    Thanks from Madeline
