Yea everyday we lose another piece of history and it kills me.

So many things I haven't seen yet.

I love old documents especially. There are so many I would like to collect but its just way too costly for me so I collect old newspapers instead.

It does sound like you are telling her to behave better...

I agree with this BUT there is absolutely no way you can do it....where will you get oil? There are so many natural resources you arent going to get at all if you place such a ban in place.

Oh the levels of this one...besides the easy stuff like clothing made by nations who dont protect women's rights (and we cant even accomplish that), there is serious stuff that would have astounding impact....lets look at things like our cell phones...coltan

Are you aware of the impact that would have on agriculture, medicine, energy etc?

What the US could do is to help lead the change of direction in the right way, but currently, the US is one of the most powerful offenders...and the US populace seems unable, unwilling or too apathetic to actually change that fact. To do what you want would mean to go up against the US and the direction the US seeks.

Sweden has some laws about not taking in merchandise from any slave or child labor, but the stores here are most likely FULL of merchandise that comes from slave and child labor....we have words on paper that we dont adhere to and if we tried, we would get nailed as violating EU standards or something. Those trade agreements make sure our entire economy will work in a particular way, changing that is possible, but its not easy and its not painless...so we dont change it.
