I don't agree with it, but I understand it.
    ^^This^^

Plus just think if you work in a low income job and need it to keep a roof over your head. You could very well be fired for telling on the boss.

Too many times that is the case, too many women are chained by financial constraints, employers will finagle and squirm to protect a company and in the act of doing so, they will clothesline these women, I've seen and called them out on it.

The reaction to sexual harassment and assault varies, and any fool who has a family, and loses a loved one, can see how different people react differently; there is no one "straight line" to grieving, and the same goes here, it is a form of grieving.

Now, I am sure deep in the bowels or minds of some, this is a weakness or a cause for skepticism,, that's why there are support groups, who give strength to those women who can't do it on their own.

I had a horrible (or great) reputation when it came to this; I've put marks on men who sexually harassed, I am a firm believer in leaving physical evidence of a harasser's attempt to overpower a woman.

And that reputation served me well for many years, I was the "don't mess with her" female. I always thought a good hard smack to the jaw was the best medicine for this kind of sick behaviour.

But, that's me, others? were raped by fathers and were told "this is how you learn to love", nothing would give me more pleasure than to open their chests and walk barefoot thru the gore.

    Regards
    Pace

August Ames, the adult video actress who recently committed suicide, was molested by her grandfather when she was a child. Hell, the porn industry is filled with abuse survivors. So maybe that's a way for some sex abuse victims to deal with it. Exploit their own sexuality on their own terms instead of someone else doing it. I'm not saying that's particularly healthy. But maybe that's the mindset.

Isn't a secret payoff from the perp to the vic to hide an active crime illegal? I would take it, put it in an escrow and then file more charges. It certainly can be considered proof of guilt.

Interesting read from Jessica Hahn. Obviously every woman would have her own reason, but I think the biggest one for many is shame.
Hopefully this is true now, but I was once young and poor. "Sexual harrassment" was the wallpaper in my life, and I couldn't give it a second thought, because actual, violent sexual assault or even worse was a constant threat.

I worked in a grocery store during HS and my manager told me if I didn't fuck him, he'd fire me. I laughed in his face. Seriously. I was spending 24/7 dodging rapists and that asshole thought he could get over on me using EXTORTION?

He had said that very same thing to every young girl working there. Probably thought of himself as a great guy, just a bit of a rogue. We all thought of him as a poisonous asshole.

Not everyone's life resembles that of a law professor oir a Hollywood actress, and I remind us, the remedies that those women achieve -- which they richly deserve -- will not be useful to poor women, especially if not they are undocumented.

I believed her then and I believe her now.

Jessica Hahn (born July 7, 1959) is an American model and actress. She accused televangelist Jim Bakker of rape while she was employed as a church secretary. She frequently appeared on The Howard Stern Show throughout the late 1980s and into the 2000s.

Internal conflicts at companies are as confidential as are employees' pay.

Companies are not require to notify employees of sexual harassment allegations. An employee has not way to know who are involved at any time in accusations of sexual harassment at their jobs or what outcomes any complaints to HR have transpired.

An engineer was accused of murder of his wife. No one knew of the charges until he was arrested in the parking lot at lunch time on day.

We received an email from the President of the company that no one should discuss the matter.
    Thanks from Madeline
