bah.. fuckin tease. Russia's new T-14 tank gets an "official" reveal but the turret is still covered like the photos from weeks ago.

It's the old debate about quality versus quantity. Some say a proper mix of both, some say one or the other.

Kind of hard to justify using an F22 to bomb an ISIS pickup truck when an A10 works just fine.

In 2 wars vs Iraq the Abrams vs T-72 score was....something like 500-0. This T-90 version.. may close that gap. However.. you still have other factors. The USA has Apache Helicopters, A-10 Warthogs.. both lethal tank killers. Our Bradleys and Strykers.. can kill tanks. We ain't playing with WWII Shermans. It is VERY hard to kill an Abrams. At best. It can find you anmd kill you. It's fast. It has more firepower..it has quick target/react time. It is supported by other armour and air.
Until a hostile tank knocks out an Abrams.. I bet on the Abrams.
In the first Iraq war we dominated totally. Were the Iraqi's competent fighters with decent equipment but were just dominated by technology and tactics or did they just totally suck ? Their air force never accomplished anything except dying. We obviously had great equipment, AWACS, JSTARS, satellite etc to see what they were doing. If they were mostly untrained, poor leadership, average equipment then the outcome is no surprise. We also had many countries fighting with us.

There's gonna be all sorts of new toys shown at the upcoming Victory Day Parade 2015 on Red Square.

Aside from the Armata itself, there will be new self-propelled artillery vehicle based on the Aramata chassis

New types of APCs and such too

New mobile anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense systems too

Gonna be quite a show lol

Finally, days before the Red Square parade, the Armata is on the streets of Moscow, fully uncovered

Kind of disappointing, actually, doesn't look as impressive as I thought it would. Still cool, very modern. Supposedly, it is in part based on the Israeli Merkava.

There is also the "Bumerang" APC

And the "Koalitsia-SV" self-propelled artillery platform, which uses Armata chassis

and other things. Parade should be great.

The T-80.T-90 are upgrades on the T-72... which proved only a speed bump to Abrams. I'd say they closed the gap in terms of hardware... but are the guys inside as good? Do they have equal air cover? Logistics? Tactics?

The Abrams depleted Uranium Sabot round is a tak killer. Abrams armor.. hass done well vs any Russian tank gun. The Abrams is VERY good at shootig well on the move...day or night. We ALSO have A-10 Warthogs. Those suckers can decimate a Armored brigade.
