I saw the original jfk back when she was new off the coast of spain back in the day. Compared to rusty rosie (uss roosevelt), which I was on, she was beautiful.

I feel so proud to live in a country that produces the largest aircraft carriers. NOT. I feel a lot poorer, I don't feel a wee bit safer. Of course we can now meddle in the South China Sea a bit easier.

If you could talk the rest of the world out of building weapons, maybe we could stop building them also.

Steam is not a "form of power." It's a means of converting heat energy into motion energy. It's also pretty efficient. Solar power plants use steam. So do nuclear power plants.

What portion of the world's weapons do we make?
The United States remains the world’s preeminent exporter of arms, with more than 50 percent of the global weaponry market controlled by the United States as of 2014.

You might note that a great many of our weapons systems are offensive in nature and not defensive.
