Congressional Research Service: Was attacking Syria legal?

The Congressional Research Service is questioning the legality of President Trump's attack on Syrian assets.

An interesting read. Has Trump committed a "war crime?"

Is there anything Trump is not being investigated for?

For many of us who have daily lives, the first thing we have to do after work or play is check to see what shoe has fallen in the last few hours.

OMG did you read that piece of shit paper?

It says that states are no longer allowed to act under a sovereign principle but must adhere to an international norm.

    WTF is that crap?

Sorry but the world does not tell the US what they can and can not do.

    Fucking liberals.

As you know, the states' sovereignty is limited. "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding." U.S. Const. art. VI, cl. 2. If the United States makes a treaty with other countries that binds the U.S., it also binds the states.

Actually, it cannot. A treaty is made by the President, with the consent of the Senate. The treaty-making power does not belong to the Congress. The power to declare war does.

That's bullshit and you know it.

Any US law trumps any treaty if they are in conflict.

The War Powers Act means the president cannot be accountable to any foreign entity unless Congress decides there was a human rights violation.
