You're right, I am a professional student and I know this.

Australia couldn't ever in a million years pull their own weight in a war.

If you want to debate that I am all ears.

What nation can? That's why nation's have alliances. Allies protect each other. As in the case of Vietnam.

    Bullshit.

Many nations can fight wars just fine by themselves. They have for thousands of years.

Do you know why nations get allies?

They get them as bullet fodder while they go and win the war.

What nations are you referring to?

    Cheers,

    Bourne

Ah. There was a day, in my youth, when I would see bait like this and jump at it.

I'd rush to beat any other Commonwealth poster to be the first to respond. Like a seagull from Finding Nemo, "mine, mine, mine".

    Those days are behind me.

Fun fact. it's Victoria Day today. A national stat, officially a recognition of the Queens birthday, but unofficially known as the "May two-four" because it's the Monday before May 24th AND there are 24 beer in a case - which is how to celebrate it.

I've probably reached the age where I'll never carry a gun for my country again, but if for some reason I did (and things would be pretty bad if reached that stage) I'm glad I'll do it knowing theres a couple million of my cousins on the other end of the Earth who will always have my back.

ANZACs fought with my great grandpa, my grandpa, and a couple of my uncles.

    Blood brothers.
Thanks from Bourne, Amelia, The Man and 3 others

Er, that is utter bullshit. The Japanese bombed Darwin in WWII and all the Aussie troops and ordnance were in Nth. Africa fighting the Germans. The US needed Brisbane as a base of operations and that is why the US came to Australia. however, he US did nothing to prevent further raids on Darwin.

    Here:

The bombing of Darwin - Fact sheet 195 ? National Archives of Australia, Australian Government

This of course has nothing to do with Vietnam.

He's completely talking out of his ass, as usual.

Don't give him the time of day.

You are obviously ignorant. Try to learn some history before you run your mouth. Aussies are some of the best trained soldiery in the world, and in Vietnam they trained US troops in Jungle fighting.

You made the claim therefore it's incumbent on you to support the claim. What nations have successfully fought wars by themselves without alliances?

    Cheers,

    Bourne
