    Actually I'd say it would be the slaves in Haiti.

    They overthrew Napoleon's forces there....he then sent his most elite soldiers to quell them, and they were dispersed, and he said fuck it...he's done with the western hemisphere.

    Prior to that he had plans to invade America, Haiti was going to be his jumping off point.

    I cold never understand why Russians rever so much the Battle of Borodino?

    Huge, majestic reenactments are held every damn year, involving thousands of men

    horses

    and artillery

    and even actors portraying both Napoleon

    and the Russian commander, Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov


    All at great expense, and God knows what the point is of commemorating a battle that Russia, btw, basically LOST, with Napoleon indeed capturing Moscow in the end (or, what was left of it, after Kutuzov had most of the city burned down before they retreated, something for which he is hailed as a great hero to this day lol)
