"Popular Resistance of Raqqa" (or, what our media won't tell us)

Back in February, I have seen reports that an underground armed resistance network sympathetic to the Assad government has apparently formed in the city and surrounding area of Raqqa, Syria, controlled by the pro-US Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:45: P.M.) – A newly-formed, pro-government faction in the Syrian northern city of Raqqa has just issued a statement declaring resistance against the American troops in the afflicted city.

“We officially declare the formation of the popular resistance in Raqqa to prevent the American aggression from taking over any part of our beloved Syria after it [USA] gathered terrorists from all over the world as their proxies; who destroyed the city of Raqqa and killed its innocent people”, the statement read.

The group introduced itself through Six rifle-wielding, masked men filmed in video footage and circulated on social media.

AMN hasn’t been able to verify the authenticity of the footage.

The group called on all the people of Raqqa to take part in the resistance by all means possible through “engaging in demonstrations, strikes and opposing all efforts to partition Syria”.

Meanwhile, the Syrian government accused the US of massacring scores of civilians in Deir Ezzor by conducting illegitimate airstrikes.

Video of them apparently raising Syrian flag somewhere in the city, at night, March 4th

About a day ago, they took responsibility for a mortar attack on what they said is a US base

Video of these fighters firing mortars here: No to ‘occupation forces’: Militia in Raqqa allegedly attacks US base (video)

This has been widely reported in Russian media and propaganda outlets:
TASS: World - Citizens of Raqqa revolt against US-controlled militants - Russian top brass
Raqqa civilians rise against US-backed rebels amid dire humanitarian situation – Russian military
Arabs Start Uprising Against US-Backed Armed Groups Near Raqqa - Russian MoD

Yet no mention of it, that I could find, in our media here, in North America, or in Europe.

    Same for this, today:

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:00 P.M.) – The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) launched a big offensive against the US-backed forces in rural Deir Ezzor this week, targeting several areas east of the Euphrates River.

ISIS began their offensive by storming the key town of Al-Bahra; this would result in a series of intense clashes that lasted for several hours on Monday.

The terrorist group would ultimately take control of Al-Bahra before reinforcements from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrived today to help retake the town; it is still contested.

Meanwhile, at the large Al-Saykhan Oil Field, pro-opposition activists allege that the Islamic State has taken control of the site following the withdrawal of the US-backed forces.

If true, this will be one of the biggest losses suffered by the US-backed forces since they launched their offensive in rural Deir Ezzor last year.

Seems our Western media hides military failures and other unfortunate facts much like Russian media does for their side...

Personally, I just think Vladimir wants us out. Gave Donald his marching orders.

Chalk it up as a major strategic victory for Russia, then. Getting a warm water port, a MEDITERRANEAN port, has been a strategic goal of Mother Russia dating back to the time of the czars, all the way back to Peter the Great. Now Putin has it.

In fact, America is in strategic retreat around the entire world. This began on Day One of the Trump Presidency, when he abruptly withdrew America from the TPP, the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

All of this is why a recent issue of Foreign Affairs judged that the Trump Presidency is leading to "the ABRUPT decline of America as a superpower in the world."

The people who are CHEERING that are presumably anti-American. Including any and all Americans who are cheering it.

Tartus was a Soviet Navy porn before too. It's not new for them to be there...

    But, agree otherwise.
