Put some cardboard or camouflage on Pattons to change the shape.
    Ruined the movie for me.

Patton tank to me looks like a cross between T34 and a Panther. I think its forgivable and I'm pretty sure most of those tanks weren't operational by the time the movie would have been filmed anyway.

    I'll have to watch BOB.

Great movies made during the war were Destination Tokyo (Cary Grant) and Sahara (humphrey Bogart)
Saving Private Ryan still has a great opening sequence of course. The problem with Saving Private Ryan is that they turned it into the Sullivan Brothers but they mount a mission to save the remaining Sullivan from outside the unit. They wouldn't do that, they'd send the order down the chain of command of the 101st Airborne and hope they could pull the kid off the line.
    Thanks from MaryAnne

To this day, D-Day GENERALLY, but obviously this SPECIFIC assault, which was just insane going up that cliff --- I always wondered how close they were to helicopters because let's face it helicopters actually would change EVERYTHING about D-Day

What was a shame was they fought their way to the top, took causalities, only to find the guns they made the attack to destroy had already been moved by the Germans. Tragic!

I agree that helicopters would have made that assault easier but I wonder how they would have withstood the withering antiaircraft fire they would have sustained going over the beaches??

The troop carriers are slow moving targets.

No way were there enough real King Tigers left for that movie ....maybe 3 or 4 in the world....but they could have done some artwork on the Pattons because, lets face it.....the tanks were the stars of the movie.

I tried to download pics of a patton and a king Tiger but can't tonight.
    Totally different.
