Israel & Egypt and USA Aid

So who here dislikes sending money every year to Israel and Egypt? I think it is stupid for us to be doing this. Do you all know why and how it is that we send 1.3 billion dollars to Egypt and 3 billion to Israel every year since 1979?

Back in 1979 Egypt and Israel had been working on a peace deal and when they had it worke out they approached Jimmy Carter and said you send us billions of dollars every year so we can buy arms and we promise not to attck each other. Jimmy agreed and got his picture taken with Sadat and Begin.

Now we are still sending these billions to these two countries. Egypt has since had a revolution and would appear to be run now by Muslim extremists. So what are we funding with our billions now?

Yaa, completely idiotic...all nations have to be self-sustaining. If they can't or won't they should
be absorbed by stronger ones. America is fucking broke but still sends the monies out. Insane!

Yes and the Left seems to really dislike israel and yet it is jimmy Carter who started this crap. Notice nobody on the left has anything to say about this. This spending needs to stop today.

Buying the peace is cheaper than fighting wars, apparently.

I don't have a problem with foreign aid, if it goes to the right places...Egypt and Israel are as far from the right places as you can get.
The amount for Israel BTW is closer to 6 bln.
