    How charming that as little as 115 years ago, people genuinely assumed that a typical image of 'modern 21st century life' would be set in France.

    Really.......I'm shocked at how 21st century life is in Ohio. it ain't the Jetsons but we do got good beer. The Jetsons..... no good beer.

    Our "Star Trek" vision of the 22nd or 23rd Century is hopelessly out-of-date even childish.

    Bio-tech, cybernetics, cyborgization, "downloading consciousness", etc. will make our current predictons of "the next 100 years" look as prosaic and unimaginative as those of H.G. Wells or Jules Verne.
