what will FUTURE historians refer to our current era as?

we (obviously) refer to our current time period THE MODERN ERA or MODERN HISTORY. we refer to other eons as PRE-HISTORY, ANCIENT HISTORY and also have MEDIEVAL HISTORY (interchangeably called the middles ages). so in the far future when assumably Future historians will refer to their own era as MODERN... what will they refer to our era as? say like in 500- 1000 years time.

*the industrial age? the digital age? the computer age? the fossil fuel age? the oil age? the mechanical age?
**how about the Progressive era? or maybe "the new world era"- in homage to the early ages of exploration around 1500. or even still the Columbine era (Columbine history) in honour of the man who spearheaded this era- CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS.
    what defines this current epoch???

NOTE: **I HAVE IGNORED SPACE AGE- because I assume future humans will still be in a space age (nuclear apocalypse permitting). we will have colonised half the solar system by then.

Since I see a much bleaker future as we deplete our resources and exceed the Earth's carry capacity, I think this will be referred to as "the Golden Age", the age when average people didn't starve in the street and most countries were not under mob rule, and resource wars were rare instead of constant.

Read "The Mote in God's Eye" for reference.

I though we were in the Information Age. That's how I see it.

Fall of the Wall being the marker between this and the Cold War era.

I think it depends on what you consider average.
    https://www.wfp.org/hunger/stats

Developing countries constitute almost 6.8 of the estimated 7.4 billion people on Earth. Hunger, poverty and violence are rampant in those countries and governments lack proper tools to enforce their own laws. If by average you mean US, Canada and most of Europe, then yeah I think you are right.

Maybe they're going to call our age in the future "The Nuclear Age" if we don't nuke ourselves before that.

    VERY GOOD Novel.

But, do you mean to suggest that you think we will be like the "Moties," and overpopulate our system?

The Humans seemed to have plenty of worlds and food, just somewhat "Imperialistic..."

Have you read "The Integral Trees?"
