BTW ... ever notice something that seems to be missing from 20th-century history in Star Trek, like when they all go back to the 20th century? Well, Star Trek itself is what's missing!
Well, and Star Wars, too! When the crew of the Enterprise goes back in time to the late 20th century, why don't they ever show movie theaters with one of the Star Wars movies?

Well, you know, I actually DO, and I guess I just was not THAT determined to get my hands on a copy of the Karl Rove book. It's probably very slanted history, anyway, given Karl.

Not the same thing. If Star Trek existed in Star Trek's history, then wouldn't have had any problems when they went back in time - people would have recognized them.

--China, pretty much at any time, other than the past 200 years.
--Feudal Japan (although, I would probably lose my head....)
--The American Revolution, and founding of the Republic

Yeah, but wouldn't folks have been pretty surprised, to see Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock from 250 years in the future just walking around downtown San Francisco??

On the other hand, Chekhov's Russian accent wouldn't have aroused so much suspicion.

I, too, am very interested in the transition from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire----and so were our Founding Fathers, for rather obvious reasons!!

There was an interesting book I read a few decades ago, on the 1st Century BC, covering everything from Rome to China, and all points between. A VERY interesting century in the history of Eurasia.

I wrote several articles on ancient Roman numismatics. Sold my collection. In high school, I thought I might become a professor of Latin and classical archaeology.

''The Pearl''' is a good collection of Victorian porn. Lots of spanking.
