    Agreed - and yet take it across the pond and we find that any one might use far cruder, to me nastier, expressions and they are not necessarily frowned upon.

    I can do Toff if I feel like it. I don't mind the toffs they are just as down to earth as the working classes, it is the middle classes that are the problem, pretentiousness is the enemy of language, even though I am middle class myself.
